24 May 2013 Major breakthrough for Hamon in the LNG area

JGC Yokohama (Japan), one of the most experienced EPC in the field of LNG export terminals, has awarded Hamon D’Hondt the contract for the supply of air-cooled heat exchangers for the Petronas LNG terminal (Train 9) in Bintulu (Borneo Island, Malaysia).

Given the highly demanding requirements of that type of application, the selection process lasted several months, at the end of which Hamon D’Hondt cutting-edge technology was the EPC final choice.

This order, including the engineering, procurement, manufacturing and delivery of 89 bays and 157 bundles will be a representative reference of Hamon D’Hondt state-of-the-art know-how, completing an already long track record in supplying air coolers to the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries in the most severe operating conditions all over the world.

DAELIM AWARDS HAMON THE ORDER FOR COMPLETE SUPPLY OF a Wet Limestone FGD PLANT AT THE OMON THERMAL POWER PLANT, 300 MW FUEL OIL BOILER

Daelim Industrial Co, qualified as EPC Company, is recognized as a global contractor with leading edge technologies and excellent management abilities. Daelim boasting holds a distinguished record of performance in more than 24 countries mainly located in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

For this project, Hamon will supply a Wet Limestone Flue Gas Desulfurization for the future 300 MW fuel-oil boiler of the O Mon II power plant. This EVN (Vietnam Electricity) power plant is located in the south of Vietnam, 160km south of Can Tho, in the Mekong Delta. This project will be executed by the Hamon FGD (flue gas desulphurization) center of excellence team in Essen, Germany, with the local support of Hamon Asian offices.

 Two major successes for APC EMEA / Brazil in France and Asia booked in February 2013
FRANCE:

EDF - Cordemais PP

EDF – the French utility – has awarded a major contract to Hamon for the rebuild of ESP’s (electrostatic precipitators).  These ESP’s  will remove 99% of the particulates emitted by three 600 MW coal fired power plants  (1 in Le Havre and 2 in Cordemais).  The contract is a part of the global EDF Q600 project to extend the useful life of EDF’s coal fired power plants to 2035.  

Hamon will rebuild one ESP per year, to be completed in March 2014, 2015 and 2016.  With a value close to EUR 44 million, this contract confirms the continuous leadership of Hamon in the particulate control segment of the Air Pollution Control market for power plants.

Hamon has set up a high quality project team to manage this contract, making use of its best resources from France, Germany and Belgium.

ASIA

Hamon will supply a Wet Limestone Flue Gas Desulfurization for the future  300 MW fuel-oil boiler of the O Mon II power plant. This EVN (Vietnam Electricity) power plant is located in the south of Vietnam,160km south of Can Tho, in the Mekong Delta. This project, with an approximate value of USD 16 million, will be executed by the Hamon FGD (flue gas desulphurisation) centre of excellence team in Essen, Germany, with the local support of Hamon Asian offices.

Hamon won this contract thanks to the technical excellence of its FGD team in Essen (Hamon Enviroserv) and the commercial efforts of the Asian hub set up during 2012 in Korea and Vietnam. It is the second contract that Hamon has secured since it focused its APC unit on Asia.  For the record, Hamon has won a USD 12 million contract for the supply of two ESP’s (Electrostatic Precipitators)  for a 2x600 MW green field coal fired boiler build by PetroVietnam in Thai Bin in Q4 2012.

Success in traditional activities but weight of new activities impacts – in the short term - Hamon’s profitability and result. Result before tax reduced to EUR +2.6 million in 2012 compared to EUR +5.4 million in 2011.

 

Backlog representing more than one year of revenue

  • New order bookings amounting toEUR 461.7 million in 2012.
  • Backlog as of 31/12/2012 ofEUR 621.4 million.
  • Important number of pending offers and of « limited notices to proceed ».

 

EBITDA of EUR 17.1 million – Result before tax of EUR +2.6 million. Net loss of EUR -1.6 million (Equity holders of the Company EUR -2.5 million)

  • Sales increasing by 25% versus 2011.
  • BUs EBITDA increasing by EUR +4.6 million during 2nd half year versus 1st half year of 2012.
  • Result before tax of EUR +2.6 million.
  • Net loss due to heavy taxes because no tax consolidation on worldwide basis.

 

Encouraging developments for the future

  • Growth of Dry Cooling activities with important commercial and R&D investments.
  • First success of APC in Asia and in Eastern Europe which should allow to bear the redeploying costs of this activity. Good level of bookings of this BU early 2013.
  • Expansion of Deltak sales activities in Asia with positioning in the global heat recovery steam generator market.

04 Feb 2013 AQS new order - Power Generation - Coal Boiler - new wet FGD for Turkey

AKSA GOYNUK ENERJI AWARDS HAMON ENVIROSERV THE ORDER FOR THE FGD AT BOLU GOYNUK POWER PLANT

Aksa Enerji Uretim AS (AKSEN), Turkey’s biggest non-government power producer, started the construction of a 270-megawatt coal-fired power plant at a cost of $319 million in the northwestern province of Bolu. Aksa Enerji has acquired rights to extract an estimated 39 million metric tons of brown coal, or lignite, in the area for 35 years. The power plant is part of a plan by Aksa to raise its capacity to 4,500 megawatts in five years from 2,500 megawatts currently.

The first 135-megawatt unit of the plant will be completed in October 2014 and the second one in March 2015.

All units will receive the latest air pollution control systems in order to match the strong emission regulations.

In that purpose, Hamon Enviroserv, a member of the Hamon Air Quality System activity pole, has been awarded by Aksa Goynuk Enerji the contract for the delivery of the wet limestone flue gas desulphurization plant.

This contract continues the good cooperation between Aksa and Hamon, started more than 10 years ago with the supply of the Samsun FGD system.

OWENS ILLINOIS AWARDS HAMON DO BRASIL THE ORDER FOR REPAIR, UPGRADE AND ADDITION OF FGD EQUIPMENT TO THE EXISTING AIR POLLUTION CONTROL SYSTEM OF FURNACES 4 & 6.
 

  

Owens Illinois, world leader in the manufacturing of glass containers, has selected Hamon for the upgrade of their existing pollution control system in their plant of São Paulo, Brazil.
 

Owens Illinois is a North-American company with 81 plants in 21 countries and more than 24,000 employees worldwide. Nowadays, it is active in the production as the world’s leading glass-packaging maker.

Hamon will replace the existing ductwork and supply new equipment as fresh air sucking dampers, new Ca(OH)2 storage silo and dedicated dosing system, new dry injection system for desulfurization, new ductwork, main repairs and modifications on existing ESP, new ID fan and new exhaust stack, electrical related devices, material and services (dismantling and erection) in order to provide SOx abatement system and higher exhaust capacity.

Daelim boasting a distinguished record of performance in more than 24 countries mainly located in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
In such context, PetroVietnam awarded Daelim to build the subcritical Thai Binh II Thermal Power Plant 2 x 600 MW.
For this power plant, Hamon is proud to supply all engineering activities, procurement, manufacturing, delivery, supervision and start-up of all ESPs units.

This confirms the re-positioning and strengthening of Hamon’s Air Pollution Control Business Unit in East Asia and more specifically in the Power Generation sector

CEMIG, the Brazilian Power Generation Company, has selected Hamon to supply an Electrostatic Precipitator and all its auxiliaries for their plant in Juatuba, Matto Grosso.

EMIG is a Brazilian Public Company active in the electric power generation sector. Cemig is responsible to supply, mainly electricity for end-consumers as well as some industries. The energetic source leaded by Cemig can be hydraulic or thermic, depending on the physical position.
 
Hamon's scope of supply includes all the basic and detailed engineering, supply all materials and equipment as described above and all assembly, supervision and erection services, as well as commissioning, start-up and dedicated training for operating personnel.

CHINA HUADIAN ENGINEERING AWARDS HAMON ENVIROSERV THE ORDER FOR ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL SERVICES FOR THE BALI NORTH POWER PLANT 3 x 142 MW

China Huadian Engineering Co., Ltd. (CHEC) operates as a subsidiary of China Huadian Corp., and provides the design, development, production, services and construction of power plants. CHEC is involved in the design, manufacturing, service and construction of projects in different industry such as power, chemistry and metallurgy. In addition to construction and operation of various power plants, CHEC also provides the services such as equipment supply, supervision, and engineering project contractor for utility system of large for fossil power station.

Bali is currently facing an electricity deficit. It receives a total electrical energy supply of more than 500 MW from various power plants located in Java.

The first units of the new coal fired power plant with a capacity of 3 x 142 MW will be built now in the area of Celukan Bawang. All units will receive the latest air pollution control systems in order to match the strong emission regulations.

In that purpose, Hamon Enviroserv, a member of the Hamon Air quality System activity pole, has been awarded by China Huadian Engineering the contract for the engineering and technical services for the seawater flue gas desulphurization plant.

ELEKTROPRIVREDA OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA AWARDS HAMON ENVIROSERV THE ORDER FOR CONSULTANT’S SERVICES TO IMPLEMENT THE FGD PLANT AT THE THERMAL POWER PLANT UGLJEVIK


Ugljevik Thermal Power Plant (TPP), located in Ugljevik (Republika Srpska) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has a nominal output of around 300 MW with a maximum annual production of 1978 GWh.

Ugljevik TPP has prepared an environmental action plan to construct the Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) and reduce air pollutants (SO2 and dust) by 98.4% from its present levels to be able to reach the EU regulations.

 

In that purpose, Hamon Enviroserv, a member of Air Quality System activity pole, has been awarded by Elektroprivreda of Republika Srpska the consulting services for the Procurement and Implementation Assistance of the FGD Construction Project. 
 
Its services include the procurement assistance starting with the selection of the best available technology, preparation of the tender documents and the implementation assistance until the handover of the new FGD plant to the client.
 
The objectives are to ensure the timely and successful tendering, contracting, construction, installation, commissioning and operation of the FGD.
