In the wake of its previous acquisitions of the cooling activities of the ex-Hamon Group, John Cockerill pursues its acquisition strategy by taking over Hamon Indonesia.
This new acquisition meets John Cockerill's ambitions and industrial projects in South-East Asia. With this acquisition, John Cockerill strengthens its position in the region with expertise in line with its offer in the energy business.
Anne-Françoise Laime, Executive President of John Cockerill Hamon: “We are pursuing our investment strategy in cooling activities and this new takeover will complement our other entities to make of John Cockerill Hamon a world leader in wet and dry cooling. We believe this new entity will benefit from the Group's industrial support. We are willing to strengthen our position in Asia and intend to invest more and develop other promising activities, such as hydrogen, recovery boilers, molten salt thermal solar receivers or water treatment, i.e., activities for which the Indonesian entity will be a springboard, namely thanks to their close relations with the EPCs and local players. The current contacts in charge of services and spare parts remain the same to go on serving our clients at best. »
Bagus Mardananto, Managing Director of John Cockerill Hamon Indonesia: « We are proud to join a prestigious and dynamic group such as John Cockerill and happy to follow our path with our colleagues from the former Hamon group. John Cockerill and Hamon, two prestigious brands that combine their know-how to always meet the needs of their customers. »
In line with this growth strategy, the teams of John Cockerill Hamon France were awarded earlier this year a new order in Indonesia. This project for a 435 MW combined cycle power plant in Sumbawa Islands was awarded to John Cockerill by Jurong Engineering Limited for the design and supply of a Sea Water Induced Draft Cooling Tower. Construction and testing will also be under John Cockerill supervision.
This new order underlines the merits of John Cockerill’s acquisition in Indonesia and the importance of its presence in South-East Asia, a key region with major development perspectives.
John Cockerill builds on the solid reputation of the Hamon brand and is more than ever a partner of choice to offer a high-quality support to its clients and provide them with answers to the needs of our time. John Cockerill reaffirms its commitment to a low-carbon world in a context of energy transition.
