Hamon-Esindus 18 cell back-to-back sea water cooling tower supplied to GNA I Project is now ready for start-up. The cooling tower will guarantee the cooling of Porto do Açu 1,3 GW capacity Combined Cycle Power Plant. Our scope includes the engineering, supply, delivery, and supervision of the cooling tower.
The implementation of the thermal power plant is one of the steps to form the Açu Gas Hub, a project that is being developed in the Açu Port Complex with the purpose of providing a logistics solution to receive, process, use and transport natural gas produced in the Campos and Santos basins, as well as to import and store LNG from abroad.
UTE GNA I, built by a consortium formed by Siemens and Andrade Gutierrez hired by Gas Natural Açu (GNA), a subsidiary of Prumo Logística, is the first thermal power plant in São João da Barra, Río de Janeiro (Brazil). For a more detailed view of the plant, have a look at the video.
